Perjuangan

Damn.
I hate that word. Especially when it's related to Metal. Music, that is. Who in hell thinks Metal is a 'perjuangan'? That is so lame.
Metal is rock n roll in the most extreme way! Is rock n roll a perjuangan? Fuck NO! rock n roll is no rules no holds barred fuck you fuck me fuck everyone do what you want thing!
And I intend to keep it that way.

selamat berjuang!

Ipoh. Land of Lost Souls AKA Land Of the Menggelupo.

Going back to Ipoh tonite. 4-5 cars from KL. Gonna play a gig tomorrow. The venue? Kepura Cave at Tambun Lost World. It's gonna be an unofficial reunion of the dreaded Ipoh's Metal Militants.
3 of the original bands are lined up for the gig. Should be a lot of fun. Grim. But fun.
Langsuyr, Necrotic Chaos and Profane Creation. Cool. Grim. Fun.
But that's just a part of the agenda. The main thing will be the barbeque at my mum's house. Almost all the IMM will be there. When was the last time we actually got together? No idea. 10 years ago? Before that, we hang out almost everyday and none of us have the slightest care in the world. We were tight. And we're proud as fuck. We have our own language and to join us is like trying to enrol for a degree in oxford with with kantoi SPM. WE choose who can join us and if you think you're proud, we are prouder. Or so like that.

Hopefully there'll be a renewed bond between us and IMM will be back splitting heads and kicking the asses off those.. err.. whoever needs their heads to be split and their ass kicked.

Mesmerized playing a gig.

Wow, never thought that gonna happen. But it's happening, soon at 8th january 2011 at one cafe for the nebiula production's 16th anniversary.
I'm rounding up some personnel for the gig. Maybe it's gonna be a one off gathering of people playing for the gig.
Modified 3 songs from the 'Kuasa' album last few days. Upped the tempo to 300bpm( in the end it's 150). Put some loops in them. Used some virtual instruments too.
In the end, with some guitars in it, it sounds like some psychedelic metal band and i kinda like that.
So i guess that's it for now. It's time to practise, practise n practise.

Looking for a place to record.

It's been a while now that the boys n me are looking for the perfect place to record our new album. I have quite a few ideas on where to record but it definitely not include recording in a proper studio. Personally i prefer a makeshift studio. Why? i dunno. Probably because i'd like the band to have full control of what they wanna do.
So where is this perfect makeshift studio. Well it can be anywhere. In a bungalow somewhere in a middle of a jungle? Or an underground storage facility, or maybe right in the living room of one of the guy's house (which i'm sure their spouses wouldnt allow).
The ideal place must have a certain amenities intact so as to get the job done. Those are, electricity, running water and of course, a kitchen and a fridge. Why kitchen? well, it will be a 1-2 week recording and the band will actually be there the whole time and so the band needs to eat. They say the brain works better with endless sustenance (haha bloody ha).
We'll be bringing our stuffs for the recording including the supplies needed for us to stay there during the recording. There's probability that we'll bring our families too, u know, they can definitely help with the food and of course, balance some stuffs up(us men, 2 weeks is a long time, u know..ehem).
So is there anyone out there who can give us some idea on that particular place?

Miroslav Philharmonik

I was looking for something that is believable and convincing in virtual instruments. Took me a while to find the best sounding orchestral sounds and this is what i got. It's called Miroslav Philharmonik from IK Multimedia. It has 7GB of samples recorded individually somewhere in Europe and to me, it sounds so real i might be using this thing for a while, if not forever. And so for those who're inspired to create a classical masterpiece, this is the thing u'll probably need. Install it as a VST instrument and you can play it with your controllers. Seriously, beethoven sat beside me when i was tinkering with this thing. And he's holding a rotan.

FL Studio 9.

Yup. 9 that is. It has been a long way since i first started using this particular software. The first was fruityloops 3 and it was recommended by a good friend, dark-e of the famed silKhannaz. I've tried so many other softwares but somehow this one sticks to me like a bubblegum on a wall.
Why do i like it so much?

1. Ease of use.
2. Great sounds - even if it's not, i can still tweak it to sound great (well at least to my requirement).
3. Never in these years that i use it that it hanged on me. Well that's how stable it is.
4. So many doors to explore. Yup, i'm not finished with it yet.

These are the 4 principles that made me not choose to use any other stuffs in an arsenal of other hyped and overrated sequencing softwares i can find.

I'll be posting a lot more about this. Hopefully. When i got the time. huhu.

O wow! It's been 2 years!

I sure thought i've lost my password forever but somehow i managed to get it back. What luck. After 2 years, that is.
Well i suppose i can start again writing stuffs for just anybody who cares to read.
Been busy ( who else doesn't?) these past few years. Got married. Working in a tv production house now. Just got the time to start doing music with my hommies. Kinda weird cos i sure thought when these friends gets older, they'll totally forget about this music shit. But hey, mysteries are the food of our existence i guess and so we got together and will probably gonna record some stuffs next year.
Well i guess that's it for now. InsyaAllah i will write again, if not for you (who cares to read), it's for me ( for the fun of it, huhu).
